I've been lately playing with Quartz Composer that comes with Mac OS X. Great node-based visual programming language for creating graphical backgrounds, image filters, screensavers, visualizers etc. without writing a single line of code. I'am not programmer so I find it great environment for all sorts of audiovisual experimenting.
Download Starfield screensaver here. Then copy file to your ~/Library/Screen Savers/ folder. Mac OS X Leopard required.

My name is Tapio Haaja and I'm doing MA in New Media in Helsinki Media Lab. At the moment I'm also in MediaBizLab minor studies program. Before studying I worked seven years as an promotion producer at Finnish TV channel called Sub. I'm really interested in future of video production, new/social media, human approach to technology etc... Originally this blog was for my audiovisual experiments but nowadays it's more like study diary.
