iPad app plays in sync with TV program
ABC has made iPad app for My Generation TV program. The thing I find interesting here is that app takes sync from sound. So it'll work even when watching recorded version (and of course even with pirated one). Maybe it's not revolutionary but I think the approach syncing with sound is quite nice because almost every device nowadays have a microphone. So the technique is really backwards compatible.
You can find more information from ABC's My Generation Sync site.

So what kind of stuff I do for living
My fellow students have been asking what kind of stuff I do/did for living. So here's one example. It's the launch promo for 3rd season of Finnish comedy series called Ketonen & Myllyrinne (sorry only in Finnish). So in this case I've done everything. Script, editing, graphics, audio...

Two Particle Backgrounds for Apple Motion 4
Just spent some time learning Apple Motions particle/replicator engine. While learning I built two backgrounds (first one using particle engine and second one replicator) and thought about sharing my experiments. So here you go. Hope you find these backgrounds useful and feel free to use those as you like.

MA in New Media - I'll be a student next fall!
Yeah I know... Haven't updated in a long time but it'll change because next fall I'll be a student! At last I will get some time to get really into these things I find interesting. I just got information that I've been accepted to Media Lab Helsinki. It's a unit in the School of Art and Design of Helsinki. It's a two year program and I should graduate there as a Master of Arts in New Media. This is absolutely great and I'm really waiting next fall.

Trailer Editing Workshop
It's been long time since my last update. Anyway just spend four days in Oulu studying how to make great trailers. We had Craig Protzel & Sohini Sengupta from Mark Woollen company to teach us some great techniques. They are an award winning editor/producer team who have worked on some the most memorable recent movie trailers in Hollywood (Such as Milk, Slumdog Millionaire, The Wrestler, 500 days of summer). It was a great workshop and I want to share some great trailers I saw there from Mark Woollen company.
